Each year the Milwaukee Friends Meeting hosts a series of workshops aimed at helping participants to gain a deeper understanding of Quakerism. These workshops are helpful to those new to meeting as well as those who are familiar with Quaker practices but who are seeking to expand their faith journey.
Spiritual Enrichment Sessions November 2024 – April 2025
The Journal of John Woolman (1720 – 1772) – This year we will be working through excerpts from the Journal of John Woolman which is the longest published book in the history of North America (other than the bible.) Woolman wrote and traveled extensively advocating for the end of slavery, for economic justice and anti-materialism, and for tolerance for each other, regardless of class or race.
A Quaker Bible Study Format will be used for each session. To understand more about this process, please click here.
Background material for each session can be found in the links below. Hard copies will also be available in the MFM Library. Participants are strongly encouraged to read the resource material prior to attending.
